Guidant Defibrillators

Defibrillators are devices surgically implanted in a patient’s chest that are designed to shock a faltering heart.  The device sends out and electrical charge to shock chaotically beating hearts back into rhythm.  Certain of these devises may contain a flaw that can cause the unit to short-circuit and malfunction.

Guidant has recent issued an advisory to doctors about these units.
