The FDA has asked Pfizer to withdraw Bextra from the market because of increased risks of heart attack and stroke. Bextra is a prescription drug used to treat arthritis joint pain, inflammation, and stiffness. Bextra is a NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) known as a COX-2 inhibitors.
Certain dangerous side effects have been associated with the use of Bextra such as increased risk of heart attack and stroke. Bextra side effects can also include the serious skin reactions and conditions known as Steven-Johnson Syndrome and toxic epidermal necrosis.
